Please note: This is just a sampling of the ear condition services we offer. Please make an enquiry for your specific needs.

Glue ear (Otitis Media with Effusion)

Glue ear is a common and treatable cause of hearing loss in children, especially during key stages of speech and development. If needed, a paediatric hearing assessment for children aged five and up may be available on-site in a separate appointment. Since glue ear is often linked to nasal or throat conditions like enlarged adenoids, we can assess and address these concerns in the same visit.

Surfer’s ear (Exostoses)

Surfer’s ear occurs when bony growths form in the ear canal due to repeated exposure to cold water and wind. This can lead to trapped water, infections, and hearing loss. We offer assessment and treatment, including surgical removal when necessary. If you’re experiencing blocked ears or recurring infections, we can help.

Children in Kōhanga

If your child attends Kōhanga and is experiencing hearing difficulties, there may be funds available to pay for consultation and care. Please make sure your GP sends through a referral, and we can assist you. Additionally, children in Kōhanga may be eligible for Ministry of Education support for grommet surgery through a private specialist.

Surgical interventions

Dr Jaiswalcan perform a range of ear surgeries using the traditional microscope and the newer endoscopic techniques (through the ear canal) to address ear infections, surfers ear canal (exostoses), ear drum perforations, poor hearing, and skin in the middle ear (choleastatoma).”
